PROGRAM DETAILS

Introduction

In the context of today’s oil and gas industry, supply chain management is a hidden gold mine, a wealth of value waiting to be discovered.

The operating environment of oil and gas companies is shifting at an unprecedented pace – consider the recent, dramatic decreases in oil prices and the longer term relocation of production sites to more remote, more difficult and more expensive areas. Both these and other factors are leading to higher project costs and higher risk on capital returns. To preserve profitability in these challenging times, oil and gas companies must maintain operational efficiencies whilst minimising risks.

It goes without saying that making materials available for capital projects or on production sites is vital – costs of a missed day of production or delay in the first oil date are significant. However, there are substantial, untapped opportunities to reduce costs by managing inventory whilst at rest or in motion.

This program aims to provide the tools, direction and momentum to improve performance and capture value through the end to end management of oil and gas supply chains.

Learning Objectives

By actively participating in this excitingly interactive program, delegates will be able to:

  • Apply an understanding of warehousing, fleet management, transport, procurement, import/export, air freight, ocean freight and ports to the management of effective and efficient supply chains
  • Plan and resource the supply chain to meet the organisation’s supply chain strategy
  • Create and coordinate the operation of complex supply chain networks
  • Manage the different relationships needed for the supply chain to operate effectively and efficiently
  • Monitor the performance of the supply chain and ensure that any problems are resolved
  • Support and advise other parties on all aspects of the supply chain
  • Continuously improve the performance of the supply chain

Target Audience

The program is designed for those involved in the strategic and operations management of capital projects, supply chains, logistics, transport, storage, warehousing, sourcing and procurement.

It will enable participants to apply the concepts, processes and procedures which will be shared during the programme within the realities of the oil and gas environment.

Training Methodology

This is an intensive, results driven program which is focused on transferring skills and knowledge using a well-resourced framework of concept and case study to build on each participant’s existing experiences to create and enhance competencies which have seamless applicability in the workplace.

The program is structured to allow the participant to gain maximum benefit by interacting with the facilitator and fellow participants through experiential exercises and team projects.
