Introduction

A confined space is a place which is substantially enclosed (though not always entirely), and where serious injury can occur from hazardous substances or conditions within the space or nearby (e.g. lack of oxygen).

  • Learn new approaches in hazards identifications. and methodologies in risk management principles and techniques identify and quantity hazards.
  • Ensure safe practices and reduction of errors, mishaps and/or accidents, analyse incidents & near misses
  • Identification of policies and procedures that can have long term effects on the safety culture in workplace
  • Provide the participants with a structured and phased approach to creative safety management

  • What is a Confined Space?

  • Non-Permit Confined Space
  • Permit-Required Confined Space
  • Two Options for Entering Confined Spaces:
  • Categorizing Work Space

HOT WORK PERMIT

  • Portable fire extinguishers

Day-4   A Permit-Required Confined Space

    • For hazardous or potentially hazardous confined space work
    • Isolate the space
    • Ventilate the space
    • Conduct safety meeting
    • Complete permit
    • Test the atmosphere
    • Enter the space

 

Day-5    Fire Extinguisher Ratings

Do Not Fight the Fire If

The final rule

    • Flammable gases or vapors are present.
    • Cutting or welding on pipes or other metals can conduct enough heat to ignite nearby combustible materials.

Fire extinguishers remove one or more of the components
