PROGRAM DETAILS

Introduction

Many organisations have implemented a proactive approach to process hazards analysis and risk assessment under their HSE Management System. However, incidents continue to occur either as a result of inadequate risk assessments or failures in the controls designed to prevent hazards and mitigate the consequences. In this programme you will learn to:

  • Apply advanced techniques to identity process hazards
  • Enhance your skills in carrying out effective hazard analysis and risk assessment
  • Apply the concept of cost-benefit analysis
  • Appreciate the value of quantified risk assessment
  • Plan and implement effective action plans

Learning Objectives

Participants attending this programme will:

  • Be familiar with advanced techniques for hazards identification
  • Recognise the types of risk
  • Be able to do estimation and evaluation of risks
  • Appreciate the link between risk assessment and risk management
  • Rocognise the role of human error and accident causation
  • Apply techniques for hazard analysis
  • Be able to prepare action plans
  • Develop target setting, implementing, control and overview of action plans

Target Audience

  • HSE Technical Personnel
  • Process Engineers involved in Design and Modification
  • Project Engineers
  • Instrumentation and Control Engineers

Training Methodology

Participants will learn by active participation during the programme through the use of exercises, syndicate and group workshops and discussion of ‘real life’ issues that are based on actual systems or accidents relevant to their organisation.
