PROGRAM DETAILS
The Essential 5-Day Development Program – Creating the Definitive Template for Business Success
Introduction:
Leading the Business with Purpose’ is one of the most commonly used, yet least understood and even less practiced statements applied by business leaders today. It is the leaders responsibility to define their sense of purpose and therefore their justification for being in the privileged position that they hold. Being a successful leader in any organisation, whether that be a Private Enterprise, a Government Agency, a Public Service or a third sector Charitable Organisation, requires a steadfast and unwavering resolve to be the best. This program focusses on the very specific skills and behaviours that will help leaders be their best.
Throughout this program, delegates will take time out to consider in detail their corporate responsibilities and they will reflect on what is important to them and their respective organisations. We will explore a variety of tips, techniques and practices that help to raise standards and real commitment to developing and promoting professional excellence. Delegates will learn how to build and implement a business development strategy that will focus on what is uniquely important to each individual.
This five-day development program focusses on providing Leaders in all aspects of industry and public service to take time out, reflect and appreciate just what it is that is going so well for them professionally, then make clear plans and commitments to maintain these successes. In addition to this, we will identify why embracing good work ethics and establishing high moral standards in all business dealings is good, achievable practice and not some impossible objective.
It is the leaders responsibility to be that shining role model and provide clarity in times of uncertainty. It is also the leaders responsibility to ensure their business is fit for the future and that means taking the tough decisions now that will ensure continued existence and success in the future.
This program is practical in nature, with greater emphasis on the actions which can be taken in the real world as opposed to deciphering models, concepts and theories that very often have little bearing on real life occurrences. Participants will learn that by applying the three purposeful behaviours contained within the strategic leadership competency of, ‘Lead the Business’. greater success will follow. We define this behavioural and competency framework as follows:
Lead the Business – leadership Competency – Three purposeful behaviours:
- Driving for Quality – Relentlessly pursues the highest standards of performance in order to meet the needs of, and deliver the best results for, all groups interested in the organisation’s success.
- Judgement – Makes high quality decisions through evaluating all the relevant data and reaching unbiased conclusions.
- Vision – Identifies and communicates a clear picture of a future desired state
The Evidence for Senior Management to ‘Lead with Purpose’:
- 94% of the world’s most admired companies believe that senior leaders who consciously engage with their employees create a competitive advantage. (Hay)
- Organizations in the top 25% of employee engagement had twice the annual net income compared to the lowest quartile and returned 7 times more to shareholders over a 5-year period than the lowest quartile. (Kenexa)
- Organizations with engagement of 65% or greater outperformed the total stock market index with returns 22% higher than average. (Aon Hewitt)
