PROGRAM DETAILS
Introduction
The role of tanks in storage and shipment of crude oil and gas and other products play a crucial part in the oil industry. Being able to carry out all volumetric calculations and flow measurements will give you an upper hand in performing your daily work efficiently and have better knowledge on the performance of any task. This short training course will give the underpinning knowledge to be used to continually improve the performance and operability of the crude oil flow meters and gas flow measurements and their calculations. The course is a unique opportunity to enhance your the skills and knowledge in this area. It will also develop a higher performance of crude oil flow measurement.
This Training course is intended for individuals with responsibility to select, calibrate and use liquid and gas flow-meters. It is designed to be an objective, independent review and evaluation of the current state of flow metering and calibration theory and technology for flow-meter users.
Objectives
The course objectives mainly on the importance of accuracy of the stirgat capacity and volumes measurement, which is a vital point in oil & gas flow movement. At the end of the course you will be able to compare the fiscal and manual figures to ascertain the accuracy of your tanks capacity and their measurements. The course will be more than opportunity to learn the calculations, and units of measurements, checking the accuracy and learn the principals of flow meters operations and importance of their calibrations.
The course will:
- Review in detail the fundamental concepts of liquid and gas tanks .
- Building upon storage capacity theory and practice
- Introduce the principles of liquid and gas tanks and calibration.
- Analyse in detail the differences between liquid and gas tanks and vessels
- Study sources of error and uncertainty in liquid and gas tanks.
- Review practical methods for improving calculations reliability and accuracy.
- Analyse currently available storage calibration technologies.
- Offer participants the opportunity to discuss their own application problems.
The types of tanks and vessels and their construction and operations
A comprehensive manual containing all information presented in the seminar and other useful references will be presented to each participant.
Who should attend?
This short training course will be suitable for those who works in tank farms, loading bays, shipping of oil products, pumps and flow control, measurements activities. It is useful to stores and agency personnel.
