PROGRAM DETAILS
Program Overview:
As the global community grapples with escalating environmental challenges—from climate change and biodiversity loss to transboundary pollution and water scarcity—the role of international environmental law and governance has never been more critical. This intensive 5-day training program is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the frameworks, treaties, conventions, and institutional mechanisms that govern environmental protection at the global and regional levels.
Participants will explore key instruments such as the Paris Agreement, the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and others, while examining how international legal principles translate into national policy and corporate environmental responsibility. Through case studies, group exercises, and expert-led discussions, attendees will gain insight into compliance mechanisms, environmental justice, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and the evolving intersection of law, ethics, and global governance.
By the end of the program, professionals will be better equipped to engage with international frameworks, influence policy, and implement governance strategies that align with sustainability objectives and regulatory expectations—ultimately helping shape a greener and more just global future.
