 Introduction

With a work life balance you will be managing your time better. Better time management will benefit all aspects of life; you will be working smarter and producing more. This program will show how to focus on the important things, set accurate and achievable goals and communicate better with your peers at work and your family at home.

  • Creating passion for work and life: having hobbies/personal interests that fire you up
  • Creating great relationships inside and outside of work
  • Exercise, eating right, getting enough rest and how to wake up each day with a sense of purpose

 Day 2 – Achieving and Maintaining Sustainable Work Life Balance

  • Generating personal satisfaction and fulfillment.
  • Are you out of balance? Stepping back and reassessing your goals, habits and lifestyle
  • Tools for making the necessary adjustments to achieve balance and optimal success at work and at home
  • The ecology skills of work and home life – understanding destabilizing behaviours (workaholism, poor communication at home or at work, chronic stress, low emotional intelligence, dissonant social behaviours, self-defeating thoughts etc.)
  • Managing the ecology of our lives, our families and the teams we participate in

 Day 3 – Improving Team Ecology at Work

  • Improving team ecology:
  • how team members work together
  • how well they interact with other teams
  • how engaged they are in achieving goals
  • how well the organization’s culture supports its people
  • Overcoming behaviours that threaten the ecological balance, which include:
  • Poor communication
  • Failure to resolve conflicts
  • Gossiping, backbiting, finger-pointing and complaining
  • Lack of accountability
  • Constant emergencies, fire-fighting and quality problems
  • Inconsistent, inefficient procedures
  • Lack of consistency in dealing with problem behaviours
  • Condoning mediocrity
  • Favoritism, cronyism, cliques
  • Hidden agendas, turf wars, empire-builders

 Day 5 – Planning the Post Program Steps to Work Life Balance

  • The workplace of the future
  • The employers’ and the employees’ joint responsibility to discuss workable solutions that encourages a partnership between individuals and their line managers
  • Suggesting appropriate policies and practical responses that meet the specific needs of the organization and its employees
  • Planning and communicating your commitment to work life balance back in the workplace
